Interlude - A Poem for my Darling

This is a poem I wrote for my sweetheart most beloved honeybun darling. My inspiration came when I looked up the sky during the few days that S was out of town and I missed S so much.

Happy 5th Month Anniversary!

Crescent Moon

A golden bowl that had turned upside down
The crescent moon above appears to frown
Sullen and sad it gazes from afar
Wishing instead that He could be a star

For stars never feel lonely in the sky
But He is often by Himself on high
Only once a month He will have delight
When His other half joins Him in the night

Then as they hug and kiss they give off light
That shines and dazzles the darkness of night
Their brilliance radiates across the land
Their glow of love no shadow can withstand

The crescent and His lover’s warm embrace
Stirs up bitter wrath in the jealous Sea
Who only captures His pale reflection
But cannot win the heart of faithful Moon

With vicious lies spun from the Ocean’s mouth
Comes fiery judgment from the Gods above
The crescent moon is cursed to separate
From His beloved half for thirty days

Only once a month will they reunite
To consummate their passion once again
The crescent moon hopes that the day will come
When He and His sweetheart are free again

To be as One
Together
To be
Whole
